SCSH 1201 - REFLECTIVE JOURNAL (2)
Assalamualaikum and hi everyone! Welcome to my personal blogspot. Are you first time being here? If yes, then I will introduce myself first. My name is Muhammad Zulhamizan bin Zuljaini. I’m a student in International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Pagoh Campus and currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Malay for International Communication. Actually, for your information, this is my second time writing in this blogspot. So, you guys can check out my first story in this same blogspot. Without further ado, today, I want to share my experience according to my current courses that I take, which is SCSH 1201 Sustainable Development: Issues, Principles and Practices, that is related with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). I will pick SDG Number 3: Good Health and Well-being according with my story since I was kid until now.
Since
I was a child, I have been diagnosed with asthma and allergy. So, I have to
avoid some foods and some type of pollen and fur before it triggers my allergic
and asthma. I also take note what my doctor prescribes me about my food intake,
diet and also medical treatment that I have to follow as it will help my
journey to fight this disease. Alhamdulillah, my allergic and asthma now has
been reduced as I am following all the prescription and also practicing healthy
lifestyle such as brisk walking in the morning with my sister or my friends and
also eats adequately and stop before I am full. Along this journey, aside form
recover from the critical asthma and allergic, I also manage to loss my weight,
which is something that I thought impossible, but after all, I am so grateful
and thankful to Allah for curing my disease and make my doa come true.
As
I said earlier, my story is related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Number
3: Good Health and Well-being. This SDG Number 3 emphasises on taking care of
our health, either it is mentally or physically, and also our energy to do our
daily routine. It is also our responsibility to take care of our body and mind
that granted from Allah the Creator as it has been emphasised in Maqasid Shariah.
It is Hifz Al-Aql (The protection of mind) and Hifz An-Nafs (The protection of
life). These two Maqasid Shariah are related to the SDG Number 3 as it
emphasises on taking care ourselves’ health to keep the sustainability in our
life.
To
conclude my journal, I would like to emphasize on taking care of our health in
order to sustain our mental and physical well-being. Being sick and not
consulting to any doctor can cause a dangerous and critical consequences that
may lead to other problems such as financial and rapport issues. So, my hope is
that we can construct a better lifestyle and health not only this time, but
also in the future. Together, we make a better society from yesterday not only
in an institution, but in our country, Malaysia.
